Who is a Medically Dependent Child?

A medically dependent child is a child with a chronic medical need which may require frequent doctor appointments, therapy, special diets, etc. Medically dependent could also be referred to or defined as chronically ill or special needs. The needs or diagnosis of the child does not have to be life threatening or uncommon. A child who's specific needs require extra care in the form of therapy, medical attention or other areas fits our definition of medically dependent.

Who is considered a sibling of a medically dependent child?

A sibling of a medically dependent child is a brother or sister of a child with a chronic medical need. For the purposes of this kamp, the sibling may be a half-sibling or step-sibling, however we would request that they live in the same household and be directly impacted by the needs of the medically dependent child.
